Virgin Radio Teams With DRDB For Radio Giveaway

Virgin Radio is launching its biggest ever digital radio promotion, giving away one radio every hour for four weeks to drive awareness of the medium.
The national campaign has been designed to boost the profile of the digital platform and position Virgin at the forefront of the “digital radio revolution”.
The station has teamed up with the Digital Radio Development Bureau (DRDB) to give away nine of the latest radio models over four weeks starting November 10th.
Commenting on the initiative, Paul Jackson, Programme Controller at Virgin Radio, said, “This is the biggest promotion of DAB ever and Virgin Radio is proud to lead the industry. DAB is the future and soon every workplace and home will have a DAB set tuned to Virgin Radio in clear, digital stereo sound, it will be exciting to finally compete on a level playing field.”
In other radio industry news, Mark Helm, head of radio at Starcom Mediavest, has left the group by mutual consent. Starcom has confirmed it is yet to appoint a successor.
