Virgin Secures Sky For Breakfast Sponsorship

Virgin Radio has secured Sky Plus to sponsor the Pete and Geoff Breakfast Show throughout October.

The bespoke sponsorship package will include two months of special editorial features to promote Sky’s digital video recording system this autumn. In addition, Sky will be promoted across Virgin’s website, featuring the strapline: “you never need to miss your favourite programme.”

Sky’s sponsorship of the Pete and Geoff Breakfast Show will complement a wider Sky+ marketing campaign also launching next month.

Commenting on the deal, Brian Commins, sponsorship and promotions director for Virgin Radio, said: “Sky is a long-standing client of Virgin Radio and are a great example of how Virgin Radio’s approach can help a client achieve their marketing objectives. This creative package has been developed as a complete one-off bespoke deal proving Virgin Radio’s commitment to meeting clients needs.”

Charles Ponsonby, marketing director at Sky, added: “Virgin Radio is the perfect partner for Sky+ as it delivers a national audience of people interested in what’s happening on TV coupled with a creative approach. This sponsorship deal will contribute to our strategy of communicating the core benefits over a sustained period to our target audience.”

Virgin Radio recently revealed it is to promote Marks & Spencer’s new clothing range on the Pete and Geoff Breakfast Show, as part of the station’s Access All Areas initiative (see Virgin Radio Launches Marks & Spencer Promotion).
