Virgin Takes A Dip In Latest RAJAR

Virgin Radio (AM)’s weekly reach and share of listening both continued to fall according the September 2000 radio listening figures released by RAJAR this morning. The station, now part of SMG, turned in poor results in the June survey and has seen its reach fall by a further 6.5% and share by 0.5% points this time.

The BBC stations performed well, with all but Radio 5 showing growing share and reach. Radio 1 continues to be the nation’s favourite national station, with share and reach on the increase. Radio 2 also showed solid growth in share, up 0.8% points.

Classic FM looks solid, increasing its reach by 432,000. Talk Sport gained 174,000, whilst New Atlantic 252 continues to suffer, with reach dropping 17.0% this time.
