Virgin Terminates Evans’ Contract

Virgin Radio has confirmed that Chris Evans’ contract with the station has been terminated. A spokesman for the station said that due to the events of the past week (see SMG To Part With Absentee Evans?) they had no choice but to take this action as it had been decided that Evans was in breach of his contract.

The spokesman said that while they were “very sad” that it ended this way, but that the DJ was “not giving 100%”. A new breakfast show will now be hosted by Steve Penk.
