Virgin WAP Signs Sponsorship Deal With IoBox

Virgin Radio has struck a deal with mobile internet service provider iobox for a six month sponsorship of Virgin’s WAP service. The campaign begins on 22 May and will include six months of ongoing on-air support, advertorials, online promotions and promotion during the early evening Pete and Geoff show.

Virgin launched its WAP service in March this year. This development will create a level of interactivity whereby listeners can respond to adverts on air, access information about songs being played, schedules and playlists, and play interactive games testing musical knowledge, all via their mobile phone. Further functions allowing features like personalised ring tunes will be made available to Virgin WAP customers.
