VNU Opens Internet Café
VNU Business Publications has joined up with Network City, Europe’s largest Internet café, to launch Network City London, the first Internet café that provides both Internet access and business services.
Opening its doors on June 10, Network City has 25 PCs making it the largest Internet café in Europe. Around 50% of its operations will focus on its business centre, which will provide technology such as business applications, scanners and printers. Network City leases its equipment and so hopes it will be able to upgrade its technology regularly. It has a dedicated 64k line to provide faster access to the Internet.
The café’s home page will be linked to VNU’s Internet site. The café is located at 72/73 Marylebone High Street, London and in the near future Network City will set up additional sites across the UK. VNU is providing sponsorship through advertising and editorial support in return for full branding association for its computer title, Personal Computer World.
