VOD forecast to reach 65.4m US households by 2016
Magna Global’s latest On-Demand Quarterly forecasts that US video on demand will reach 65.4 million households by 2016.
This is up from 47.3 million US VOD households at the end of the fourth quarter of 2009.
It also forecast that US DVR subscriber households will hit 55.1 million by the end of 2016, up from 34.5 million at the end of the fourth quarter of 2009.
And Magna estimates that approximately 70.2% of US homes were online with the vast majority using broadband services.
It 2016 online forecast remains the same as last quarter’s, with 100.2 million households expected to be online by the end of the year.
