Vodaphone has signed a “ground-breaking” shirt sponsorship deal with Manchester United. Worth £30m, the four-year contract will see the world’s largest telecoms company give special mobile phone and wireless internet deals to supporters of the football club.
Current sponsors Sharp will be replaced when the 2000/01 season begins in August. Vodaphone promises to keep fans up-to-date with news and information about their team with deals on all the latest telecoms technology.
