Wallpaper* Appoints New Editor In Chief
![]()
Wallpaper* has appointed Jeremy Langmead as its new editor-in-chief, replacing founding editor Tyler Brule, who left in May.
The IPC style-bible poached Langmead from his previous role, heading up the lifestyle features desk at the Evening Standard. Prior to this he edited the Sunday Times Style magazine and cult women’s title Nova during its brief revival at IPC. Before this he contributed to fashion titles Tatler and Elle Decoration.
Managing director of the Wallpaper* group, Mike Soutar, said: “Jeremy is a very well respected journalist and commentator within the fashion and style arenas, and I am delighted he will be at the helm of this flagship brand.”
Despite it’s cult status ABC results for the six-month period ending June 2002 revealed a relatively lacklustre performance from Wallpaper* magazine. The title saw a 0.7 year-on-year drop in circulation to 131,075, down from 131,994 in the corresponding period in 2001.

ABC results over a five-year period paint a relatively stable picture of Wallpaper‘s circulation. The title shows steady growth between 1998 and 2000 and then stabilises at around the 130,100 mark.
Last month Wallpaper* appointed Christopher Lockwood as publisher with responsibility for overseeing the advertising and sales unit of the magazine. (see Wallpaper* Appoints New Publisher To Lead Ad Arm).
