WAP Services Continue To Show Growth

Mobile internet services attracted an average of 12 million page impression per day during November, according to the latest collective WAP figures released by the Mobile Data Association (MDA) and the UK’s four GSM operators.
This brings the total figure for November to 366 million page impressions, which represents a 5% growth per month in the first three months of data collected.
According to the MDA, the latest figures demonstrate that the most popular services continue to be those run by the operators. However, third party sites such as www.tagtag.com, wapesat.com and mobile.sky.com are beginning to account for significant traffic across the networks.
The latest SMS figures from the MDA show that the text messaging phenomenon is showing no signs of slowing, with 1.5 billion text messages being sent during November. The MDA is predicting a “bumper” end to the year as revellers use SMS to spread Christmas and New Year’s greetings (see Text Messaging Reaches New High As Christmas Approaches).
