Web Site Of The Week – Comic Relief

http://www.comicrelief.org.uk

With Red Nose Day less than a month away Comic Relief has created a huge net-site for everyone to stick their beaks in to.

This site is so well designed that even Mr Bean could find his way around it. Hands abound, to point you in the right direction. It is obviously intended to be child friendly, but it is not patronising; it will be as useful to a journalist as it will be to a school kid. Each page has a short snappy piece of text and a bold graphic.

The down load section includes tonnes of useful fundraising pages that can be saved and printed. If you fancy being sponsored to do something crazy you will find sponsorship forms, paying-in forms and fundraising ideas here. This is also the place to find press releases.

There is also information on the history of the charity and its great work, plus an on-line interactive mag, complete with a few wise words from the editor, Lenny Henry.

Red Site day has to be the most innovative part of this site. The idea of this is to spread the Comic Relief site and all it stands for around the Net. By picking up one of the Red Nose icons and inserting it on to your home page you will become part of the first ever Net-wide charity site link-up.

What’s more, this site is going from big to huge on March 1. This Saturday the second part of the site will be unveiled. This includes a Net-wise treasure hunt, never before seen Mr Bean scripts and a build your own Spice Girls programme.

If you want to find out how you can have fun and raise loadsa money for charity this site is the best place to start.
