The ITV Website, launched on Monday, is a comprehensive guide to all ITV regional stations. The site has been designed for the average viewer rather anyone with industry interest and as a result is easy to use and is full of info on ITV programmes for all regions.
The site contains weekly TV listings and allows you to specify either a region or a postcode and then gives listings appropriate to that area. As well as the week’s programmes there is also a selection of programme genres (drama, entertainment, soaps, factual, movies and so on) which give further information on ITV’s productions in these areas. The Soaps section includes a Soaps Diary which gives sneaky previews of the week’s calamitous events in the likes of Corrie and Emmerdale, preparing you for those nail-biting cliffhangers.
There are children’s games and a few programme-related screensavers to download as well as an ITV quiz and RealAudio clips from certain programmes. The site is clear and easy to use and offers direct links to the homepages of all the regional television companies. Worth checking out if you’re planning a TV night in and you haven’t got teletext and you forgot to buy a newspaper.
