Willis Quits C4
John Willis, director of programmes at Channel 4, is quitting after his request to be released from his contract was agreed by the C4 board on Friday. He has secured a £500,000 severance deal.
Mr Willis was a front-runner in the race to succeed Michael Grade as chief executive of the channel but was beaten to the post by Michael Jackson, who was poached from the BBC.
It is rumoured that Mr Willis could become the next director at the British Film Institute.
