Women Want Less Sex
According to research conducted by CIA MediaLab’s Sensor survey, nearly half of women (46%) prefer less sex – in magazines.
Following the switch of editor at Cosmopolitan and the debate concerning the amount of sex in women’s magazines, CIA MediaLab sought to clarify the public beliefs. The 46% that agree that magazines concentrate too much on sex comprises 22% that “do so strongly” and 24% that “tend to agree.” Only 24% disagree and 20% are indifferent.
Perhaps surprisingly younger people also agree. The study revealed that the 15 to 24 year olds are just as likely to agree as the 35-44 year old group.
CIA Medialab have also conducted research into young readers and newspapers. CIA found that the recent coverprice war has gained readers and will hold onto most of them. Nearly one quarter (22%) of newspaper buyers aged 15-24 claim they are likely to change their read. By contrast, only 11% of 25-54 year olds say they are likely to swap.
