WPP Interim Results
WPP have announced interim results for the six months ended 30 June 1995. According to WPP revenues rose by 7.1% to £739.4 million from £690.5 million.
Results show:
* Pre-tax profit up 34% to £48.5 million from £36.2 million in 1994.
* Net new business billings of over £637 million ($1,012 million)
* Interim ordinary dividend up 16% to 0.445p per share.
With reference to media advertising, revenues at Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide (including Cole and Weber and Ogilvy and Mather Direct) rose by 12% and at J Walter Thompson Company by 9.1%.
The Group’s market research businesses revenue rose with revenues increasing by 12%, net of inter company revenues of 7.1%.
