An article in today’s Independent has suggested that WPP is interested in a possible takeover of Aegis. FMR, the US investment group, has obtained 25.9 million shares in the last few days. Aegis shares have increased steadily over the last few months and now stand at 64.5p. WPP were unavailable for comment.
CIA has also been linked with Aegis but a spokesperson from CIA said the rumours were untrue.
