Xbox Overtakes Playstation On Internet

Xbox, the first games console to be produced by software giant Microsoft, is expected to be a major challenge to Sony’s Playstation 2 in the shops, and, according to new figures, is already proving a big pull for UK webusers.

Internet monitoring service Hitwise has reported that as of Friday 15 March, the official Xbox website had seen a large increase in visitors, claiming 0.75% of the market share in the Entertainment-Games category, compared to the 0.26% share of the Playstation site. Two weeks ago, the Playstation site was 0.03% ahead in share.
