Yahoo Expands Ad Sales Team
![]()
Yahoo UK and Ireland is expanding its advertising sales team with a series of new appointments.
The internet service provider has taken on five staff over the last month including Emma Driver, former digital sales manager at IPC, who joins sales team as sponsorship and promotions manager and Tony Lee, formerly of Crimson publishing, who has been appointed as finance category manager.
Mike Weston, previously director of media sales at Engage and Griselda Billington, client services director of 24/7 Media, join as key accounts managers responsible for developing long-term relationships with existing internet advertisers.
Andy Stevens also joins the company as senior agency sales executive. Previously Stevens worked for Carlton Hyperactive, where he was responsible for selling its portfolio of sites.
The new appointments come at a time when the online advertising industry is enjoying something of a mini boom. Excite UK announced the expansion of its advertising sales department last week (see Excite UK Expands Ad Sales Team) and a recent survey by Lemonad, reveals that internet advertising activity increased 6% during September as companies turned to the internet as a cheaper form of marketing (see Online Advertising On The Up).
