Yahoo! Promotes UK Boss To Top Marketing Role

Yahoo! UK & Ireland has promoted its UK managing director, Martina King, to its top marketing role as managing director of country operations.

Former director of sales and marketing, Fru Hazlitt, will take over as managing director for Yahoo! UK & Ireland and will work to extend the company’s presence in Europe.

In the newly created role, King will be responsible for leading Yahoo!’s country operations business, including its marketing services and media properties across all nine of its European sites.

Commenting on her appointment, King said: “My key focus will be to further develop and improve Yahoo!’s range of marketing services in order to continue to grow revenues and drive profitability and I’m looking forward to working more closely with my European colleagues.”

Mark Opzoomer, managing director and regional vice president of Yahoo! Europe, added: “Under the leadership of Martina King, the Yahoo! UK & Ireland team has built its most profitable, mature, and developed market within Europe.”

Late last year Yahoo! UK & Ireland restructured its sales department with the appointment of Alex Khan as head of agency sales and Seamus Hunn as head of client services (see Yahoo! Restructures Sales Team With New Appointments).
