Yahoo Swipes Capital Radio Sales Director

Fru Hazlitt, sales director at Capital Radio, has resigned the group to join Yahoo Europe. She is to take up the position of European sales director when her contract expires in six months’ time.

Hazlitt told Newsline: “I have got the best media job in Britain at the moment and I am very sad to leave but an opportunity came up which I couldn’t refuse.” She said the new position, which involves looking after sales for eight European countries, would allow her to evolve and expand her knowledge. “The world is shrinking and changing and this is an opportunity to learn,” she added.

Hazlitt became sales director at Capital Radio when the group formed the Capital Advertising division in May 1997. Prior to that she was head of client sales for Capital Radio.

A spokesperson at the radio station today said: “It is with much regret that we say goodbye to Fru. She is a unique and wonderful person and a great saleswoman. We will spend the Christmas period deciding on a replacement.”
