Alan Yentob, previously director of programmes at the BBC, has been promoted to director of television BBC Broadcast in the wake of Michael Jackson’s defection to Channel 4. He will also become the deputy to Will Wyatt, chief executive of BBC Broadcast. The move will take place on June 16.
