YouTube has launched a UK ‘Shows’ section offering free full-length TV programmes and clips from Channel 4, BBC Worldwide and ITN.

The latest feature on the video-sharing website pulls together around 5,000 videos from 60 content partners, according to reports.

The full-length programming section includes content such as the Peep Show, Hollyoaks, Derren Brown and the Inbetweeners.

The service comes a month after YouTube signed a content deal with Channel 4, which will see a full range of C4 programming become available on the site by 2010.

Channel 4’s long form content will carry advertising from Virgin Media, Universal, Orange, Pepsi and Samsung.

The new section will also feature clips from Wallace and Gromit (Aardman), Top Gear, The Mighty Boosh, Eastenders, QI and Spooks (BBC Worldwide) and Mr Bean (MyVideoRights and Tiger Aspect).

Content on the Shows section is expected to increase in the coming months, according to YouTube.
