YTTV Hits £13.3m Profit

Yorkshire Tyne-Tees Television today announced interim results which show that pre-tax profits have risen by 80% to £13.3m on turnover of £136m.

Ward Thomas, chairman and chief executive of YTTV, did however say that advertising sales had been disappointing and pressure would be exerted on Laser to “deliver to the level called for under our contract with them”. The smaller than expected increase in advertising revenue was offset by the programming successes of the company, such as Heartbeat and A Touch of Frost. YTTV’s schedule of film commissions is also growing, with six films being in various stages of preparation.
