ZenithOptimedia Loses Turzynski As Managing Director
ZenithOptimedia’s managing director, Greg Turzynski, is stepping down to pursue other opportunities, in a move that has prompted the agency to restructure its senior management team.
Turzynski joined Optimedia in September 1996 as managing partner and became joint managing director when the agency merged with Zenith last year. He took over as sole managing director following the departure of Tim Greatrex.
Gerry Boyle has been promoted to the role of managing director to succeed Turzynski and Mark Waugh will take on responsibility for ZenithOptimedia’s Wigmore Street operations in addition to his deputy managing director role in the Paddington office.
The agency will maintain its three account group structure, headed by Gerry Boyle, Mark Waugh and Tom George, who will oversee the third client account group, in addition to his head of buying responsibilities. They will report directly to Antony Young, who with commercial director, Greg Grimmer, will make up the UK agency’s management executive.

Turzynski is understood to be the second managing director to leave ZenithOptimedia since Antony Young took over as chief operating officer earlier this year.
Earlier this year Mediaedge:cia’s managing director, James Whitmore, left the company to be replaced by Matt James, formerly managing director of Manning Gottlieb OMD.
The move came just months after Mediaedge:cia’s UK group chairman, Rob Norman, took control of the agency, following the departure of Fiona McAnena to become development director at parent company WPP’s marketing consultancy, Kantar (see Mediaedge:cia Parts Ways With Managing Director).
