Zone Launches Maximum Mountain Bike
Zone, the publisher of Manchester United magazine, is launching Maximum Mountain Bike on 30 July. The monthly titled, edited by John Stevenson, will have an initial print run of 56,000 and is priced £2.95.
Maximum Mountain Bike‘s core audience is the 21-35 year olds who have grown up with an interest in mountain bikes, says Chris Turner. Turner, who will handle advertising at the title, started Mountain Biking UK 10 years ago and aimed it primarily at adolescents. Future Publishing since bought the title and so Turner is hoping to recapture the same audience with Maximum Mountain Bike. “These people are now 20- and 30-somethings,” says Turner, “with more disposal income but who can still have fun”.
The launch will be accompanied by a national newspaper, direct mail and national radio promotional campaign. The magazine has an ad:ed ratio of 40:60.
