Globally, there will be 35 billion emails sent every day by 2005, according to research by International Data Corporation (IDC). By the end of 2000 the volume of mails is already expected to have reached 10 billion per day. Alongside this growth, IDC claims that web browsers will become more popular than standalone email applications for sending and receiving email.
Annually, Western Europe already sends 511 billion and this is predicted to rise to 1.6 trillion in 2005.
