5.5m Adults Watch Green-Fingered Titchmarsh

Alan Last night saw the Alan Titchmarsh series The Nature Of Britain win the all important 9pm slot, with the BBC One show picking up a peak of 5.5 million adult viewers (a 26% share of the audience).

It was a varied night on the box, with Heroes on BBC Two at 9pm grabbing a peak audience of 2.2 million adults (a 10.7% share).

Earlier in the evening BBC Two showed the big match, with Scotland taking on Georgia in an attempt to make certain their place at the 2008 European Championships.

Although they battled hard, Scotland lost 2-0 to the Georgians, with a peak of 3.1 million adults tuning in to the action, perhaps many of them still heartbroken having watched England stumble to defeat in Russia yesterday afternoon.

On ITV1 at 9pm was the hilarious Sandra Bullock movie Miss Congeniality, one of my personal faves.

The awesome premise of the film – a female special agent goes undercover in the Miss America pageant to stop a bomb from going off – deservedly drew a peak of 3.5 million adults (a 16.8% share) to their screens.

Meanwhile, on Channel 4 at the same time was the magnificent Location, Location, Location, with ace property-hunters, Kirstie and Phil hosting a live special.

Last night’s show, looking at the best and worst places to live in Britain, had a peak audience of 2.9 million adults (a 15.7% share) and an average of 2.6 million adults (a13.4% share) stuck with it for its duration.
