5.5m Watch Masterchef Final On BBC Two

Masterchef Last night saw the final of Masterchef on BBC Two, with the show grabbing a peak of 5.5 million adults, or a 23.8% share of the audience.

On at 8pm, an average of 4.9 million adults stayed with the programme for its hour duration, with James Nathan finally triumphing.

It beat both Waterloo Road on BBC One and The Bill on ITV1, which both picked up peak audiences of 4.5 million adults.

At 9pm on BBC One was the latest instalment of time travelling cop drama Ashes To Ashes, starring Philip Glenister as the tough talking Gene Hunt.

It had a peak audience of 5.7 million adults (a 25.7% share) and an average of 5.6 throughout its hour long running time.

Trial And Retribution, on ITV1 at 9pm, had a peak of 4.6 million adults (a 21% share).

On Channel 4 at the same time was the disturbing documentary The Girls Who Were Found Alive, which featured interviews with two girls who were kidnapped by a paedophile and later rescued.

A peak of 2.7 million adults tuned in, with an average of 2.5 million watching all of the hour long show.
