GCap Expects 9% Fall In Revenues

GCap Media has announced that its revenues for the six months ending September 30 are forecast to fall by 9% year on year.

Capital Radio, owing to its decision to play only two ads back to back, has worsened the figure. If Capital Radio is excluded, like for like revenues for the six months to September 30 2006 are expected to decline by around 4%.

In a trading update announced this morning, GCap said that July proved to be a difficult month, although more recent months have shown an improvement.

It added that it was to begin marketing Capital Radio for the first time since 2005. GCap will be starting marketing activity shortly, and expects its impact to begin to be visible in the New Year and to be increasingly evident in listener figures for 2007.
