ABC becomes first UK certifier for Journalism Trust Initiative

The Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) has become the first UK-based certifier for Reporters Without Borders’ Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) audit.
The JTI audit, carried out first by the ABC, will be used to assess the professionalism of news publishers in the UK and around the world.
Achieving JTI Certification requires that publishers demonstrate commitment to “delivering ethical, high quality and transparent journalism in compliance with the JTI Standard.”
The audit will examine 130 criteria. Publishers wanting to show they comply with the JTI Standard can begin by completing a free self-evaluation on jti-app.com.
