ABCs: Independent’s online audience approaches 5.5m
While a number of online news sites recorded a decline in traffic in February, the Independent’s digital audience was up by 13.3%, taking its total to almost 5.5 million.
February’s figures follow a difficult-to-beat January, however, which saw all digital news sites reported a spike in traffic.
Alongside the Indy, Metro also performed well with a 7.5% increase in traffic, while the Sun was up 3.8%.
Down -11.2%, Dailystar.co.uk was hit hardest, followed by the Derby Telegraph which lost a little over 10% of its online audience.
Meanwhile, Trinity Mirror was down -3.5% compared with the previous month, while its overall digital portfolio, including regional titles, was down -2.1%.
