ActiveHome Launched To Explain Digital Technology

VNU Business Publications has launched ActiveHome magazine, providing readers with a plain-English, jargon-free guide to the latest in digital home entertainment technology.

ActiveHome and its sister website, www.activehome.co.uk, provides an essential guide to would-be buyers of the best kit available, with the magazine showing its readers how to install and enjoy their new digital home equipment.

The magazine’s editorial aims to demystify new technology without patronising the reader, help people find solutions to technical problems and offer advice when choosing from the vast array of new products on offer.

The glossy magazine, aimed at the male, 25-55 age range, went on sale last Friday, with a print run of 70,000 and priced at £3.99.

Elsewhere in the special interest magazine category, international consumer magazine group, Future Publishing, recently acquired 38 magazine titles from rival publisher Highbury House Communications, for a cash consideration of £30.5 million (see Future Acquires 38 Magazines From Highbury House).

The titles purchased include, Fast Cars, Fast Bikes, DJ, DVD Review, the What Video group of magazines and Highbury’s puzzle offerings. The deal also includes Highbury’s US division, which publishes five magazines.
