Aegis Group has announced the acquisition of Genesis Media in Canada. Genesis has gross assets of US $16.2m.
Founded in 1992, Genesis Media is an independent media agency with a particular presence in the Western Canada region. It has a diversified service offering, including CRM, digital, direct and data analytics.
Aegis Media said that the acquisition of Genesis Media will increase its scale in Canada, creating a strong agency presence across the three main centres of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Genesis Media will become part of the Vizeum network.
Robert Lerwill, CEO of Aegis, said: “Adding Genesis Media to our existing business will create a bigger and better proposition for domestic and international clients alike.
“As a result of this acquisition, Aegis Media Canada will operate from a broader base, with new strategic services. This combination will bring immediate benefits, as well as creating a stronger platform for future growth and development in Canada.”
Last week, Aegis acquired Implicom, a sales promotion and direct marketing specialist in France (see Aegis Acquires Direct Marketing Specialist).
Earlier that month, the group reported a first-half pre-tax profit of £41.3 million, up 8.7% from £38 million a year earlier (see Aegis First-Half Profits Up).
