Aegis Snaps Up Belgian Market Research Firm

Global communications network, Aegis Group, has acquired the international research business Censydiam in a deal worth up to £8.75 million.

Censydiam is based in Belgium but has offices in six other European countries as well as the US and Hong Kong. The company had revenues of approximately £15.7 million in 2002.

Aegis will pay an initial £4.55 million in cash with a further deferred payment in three years time, subject to various conditions, of up to £2.25 million. Censydiam will be integrated into the group’s market research arm Synovate.

The acquisition marks the latest move by Aegis to increase its profile on the research front. It follows the £600,000 purchase of Indian research company Blackstone Market Facts and last year’s successful pursuit of Spanish agency INNER Strategic Research (see Aegis Acquires Spanish Market Research Group).
