In March 2010, Americans conducted 15.4 billion core internet searches, with Google Sites accounting for 65.1% search market share, according to new figures from comScore.
Yahoo! sites were in second place at 16.9%, followed by Microsoft at 11.7% and Ask Network at 3.8% of the search market.
The 15.4 billion searches conducted in March was a 7% increase on February, said comScore, with Google Sites accounting for 10 billion searches, followed by Yahoo! Sites (2.6 billion), Microsoft Sites (1.8 billion), Ask Network (593 million) and AOL LLC (380 million).
