Ask Nabs Anything: Submit your questions for The Media Leader Podcast
Next month, Nabs’ Annabel McCaffrey will join Jack Benjamin on The Media Leader Podcast — and they want to hear from you.
The Q&A-style interview will feature questions submitted by the media community on topics related to redundancy, mental health and building a career in an era of uncertainty and transition.
McCaffrey leads Nabs’ Advice Line team, which provides guidance and support for those working in the industry, and has spent more than 25 years at the charity.
Last year, Nabs received a record number of calls, with emotional support — including topics relating to anxiety, burnout and stress — the top reason for contacting the organisation for assistance.
The second-most-common reason for calling Nabs was for redundancy-related support. In 2024, 39% more people contacted Nabs for such help than the year before.
Downloads of Nabs’ online redundancy guide also increased by 15% last year amid rising concerns over job security.
For far too many people in the industry this year, that anxiety has been realised. WPP has, for example, cut 7,000 jobs in the past year. Omnicom, meanwhile, has publicly set targets to reduce staff count by 10% amid its potential merger with Interpublic, which itself reduced its workforce by 2,400 in H1.
Organisational restructuring can be a stressful time for many and, as a community-centred trade publication, The Media Leader wants to help.
