Associated Plans Major Online Investment
Associated Newspapers and Northcliffe Media, its sister company, have unveiled plans for major online investment.
The digital agency Conchango has been asked to develop new ways of accessing news content through the publisher’s newspaper websites.
The deal, believed to be worth £1 million, will see Conchango develop technology and applications using Microsoft Silverlight, a new rich internet development tool.
Northcliffe Media’s network of local newspaper websites are also set for some changes, with redesigns and an overhaul of their content management system.
Robert Hardie, managing director of Associated Northcliffe Digital, said: “The key aims are to grow traffic and the length of time users spend on the site.”
“It will bring benefits for all out titles,” he added.
