Barb: Netflix, Amazon and Disney suffer UK household dips

Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ have seen small quarterly drops in the number of UK homes with access to their services, latest data from Barb Audiences has revealed.

The TV measurement company’s latest Establishment Survey showed 19.08 million UK homes (67.4% of households) had access to a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service in the first quarter of 2023, a 1.7% decrease from the previous quarter (Q4 2022).

Seventeen million homes had Netflix in Q1 2023, down -1.1%, while Disney+ decreased 1.9% to 7.14 million and Amazon Prime Video fell 1.7% to 12.9 million.

By contrast, there were quarterly gains for Sky’s Now (up 8% to 1.88 million) and Apple TV+ (up 13% to 1.69 million).
