BBC Radio Brands Get Redesign

BBC Building Advertising agency Fallon has completed a four-month redesign of BBC national radio brands, with the Corporation unveiling 10 new logos.

The redesign of the logos sees the 10 stations come under one design concept, doing away with the previous disparate collection.

The BBC said that the new logos are intended to give its radio branding a greater impact on media platforms such as online and mobile.

Gilda Witte, head of marketing for BBC Radio and Music, said that the old logos were designed to look good on television and so had been updated for the digital era.

She added that new logos will be used in a variety of ways, from podcasting to websites and promotional work.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that over 120,000 people have downloaded the BBC’s new online TV service the iPlayer since it launched just over a week ago.

The iPlayer service allows viewers to catch-up on the last seven days of BBC Television on their computer (see BBC iPlayer To Launch In July).
