BBC Worldwide Announces Key Appointments

BBC Logo BBC Worldwide, the BBC’s main commercial arm, has announced two key appointments to drive its growth strategy within the UK and internationally.

Both appointments will report into David Moody, BBC Worldwide’s managing director of digital media and director of strategy.

Luke Bradley-Jones, who joins from Spectrum Strategy Consultants, has been appointed as head of strategy and will responsible for the development of BBC Worldwide’s strategy throughout all its global territories.

Gill Pritchard, former head of strategy, has been promoted to head of business development and will focus on the implementation of a series of proposed launches planned by BBC Worldwide.

BBC Worldwide says that following exceptional financial results this year, the commercial arm of the BBC is now focussing on growth throughout all its territories and markets.

Bradley-Jones will be responsible for devising Worldwide’s strategy to pursue opportunities around the world and, working alongside management teams from all divisions, to drive BBC Worldwide into new markets.

Pritchard will be responsible for driving new revenue streams and spearheading key launches, both in the UK and in emerging territories.

Pritchard’s initial project will be to head the launch of BBC Worldwide’s iPlayer, a commercial extension of the BBC’s proposed iPlayer, which would allow people to download television and radio programmes via the Internet after the 7 days of the BBC’s free catch up service.

David Moody, managing director of digital media and director of strategy, said: “I’m delighted to have both Gill and Luke on board.

“We’ve picked out the best in the industry to both devise and implement our strategy and these appointments demonstrate BBC Worldwide’s commitment to our long-term growth.”
