Ben Shephard Host Saturday Night Show On Magic

Ben Shephard will be hosting a new show on Emap’s London’s Magic 105.4, hosting Saturday Night Magic bringing listeners the best in feel good favourites.

Saturday Night Magic will feature tracks from Madonna, Toploader, Whitney Houston and Sister Sledge, among others, with the aim to “lift your mood on a Saturday night”. The new show starts on January 21st, running every Saturday from 5pm-8pm.

Shephard made his debut on Magic in September last year as the first host in the Sunday night Indulgence series which each week sees a different household name choose their favourite tunes.

Commenting on the latest addition to the Magic team, Andria Vidler, managing director of Magic 105.4, said: “Ben loved his experience of DJ-ing on Magic so much that he really wanted to join us. We’re delighted to Ben is joining Magic.”

Shephard added: “Magic is the home of great music. My new Saturday Night Magic show will give me the chance to play some amazing feel good music. It’ll be like having your own personal dancefloor coming directly to you through your speakers.”

Last September saw the return of DJ Neil ‘Dr’ Fox to the nation’s airwaves, taking the helm of the Magic’s breakfast show. Dr Fox joined Magic on 12 September, presenting The More Music Breakfast Show every Monday to Friday from 6am to 9am (see Fox Joins Magic As New Breakfast Host).

The appointment follows a period of promotion and change for Magic, with a £1 million advertising push designed to coincide with several new programming initiatives by the station (see Magic Targets London’s Top Spot With £1 Million Push).
