Bond Bags The Viewers

James Bond A repeat of the James Bond movie Die Another Day, on ITV1 at 8pm last night, performed admirably well, beating Big Brother and a repeat showing of BBC One’s popular crime drama Waking The Dead.

The classic action movie, which features the awesome Madonna song of the same name, had a peak adult audience of 4.3 million adult viewers (a 21.9% share of the audience).

Waking The Dead, on BBC One at 9pm, had a peak adult audience of 4.1 million adult viewers (a 19.8% share). Prior to this on the same channel was Holby City, which had a peak audience of 5.9 million adult viewers (a 30.3% share).

It was a real humdinger of a show last night, as Sam chased Chrissie into a lift and they shared a passionate kiss.

Big Brother, on Channel 4 at 9pm, had the sort of viewing figure we have come to expect from this series, with a peak of 2.8 million adults tuning in for their daily dose.

There was a new series on BBC Two at 8pm, Great British Journeys, tapping into the current vogue for wandering about the Great British outdoors with a camera crew in tow.

The first instalment looked at the wild and beautiful Highlands of Scotland, and a peak of 2.6 million adults (a 12.5% share) were transfixed by the gorgeous scenery on offer.
