BSkyB And Telewest Set To Meet User Revenue Targets

BSkyB has said it is in line to meet its average revenue per user (ARPU) target of £50 per year by 2005 from the home shopping and entertainment platform, Sky Interactive, according to a news report on AFX News today.

BSkyB’s overall ARPU target is set at £400. Sky currently has around 5.5 million customers for its satellite television service; Sky Interactive, a wholly-owned division, is presently delivering an ARPU of £11.

Reporting from a television conference, AFX News also writes that Telewest Communications’ commercial director, David Hobday, claims that the cable group is set to meet its ARPU target of £70 by 2005. Telewest currently has an ARPU of £40.
