Capital Disney To Close In June

A statement was read out on-air this morning – the last day of presenter led live broadcasting will be Friday 1 June, with non-stop music continuing until 29 June.

The station, which was originally launched as Cube, broadcasts 24 hours a day with a series of presenter and music led programming. The station launched on the 12 October 2002 and was one of the first radio stations in the country to use the DAB format to provide a radio station specifically aimed at children and teenagers.

Capital Disney boosted its weekly reach by around 32% year on year at the latest RAJARs for Q1 2007, and its hours per listener rose year on year by 19.4% to 3.7 hours.

Compared to Q4 2006, weekly reach was up almost 36% whilst hours per listener were down 27.5% (see Radio 2 Boosts Weekly Reach To Over 13 Million).
