Carat Appoints Howie As Head Of TV

Carat Logo Media agency, Carat, has appointed Azon Howie as the new head of TV, working within the trading team along side Dominic Williams, head of press, and Steve Platt, Aegis head of media.

The move sees an internal promotion for Azon following four years as associate director, where he had particular responsibility for Renault, Alberto Culver, Arla Foods and WeightWatchers.

Commenting on the promotion, Neil Jones, Carat’s managing director said: “This senior level appointment will take Caratšs trading team to the next level. Azon has an impressive track record, especially in the last six months while he has been working in TV trading with Steve Platt.”

He continued: “Azon proved he had the strongest credentials for the job against all internal and external candidates considered, and is set to be a valuable addition to Caratšs senior team.”

Platt replaced Aegis Media former head of media, Mark Jarviz in March, with the role expanded to include a larger European remit as well as responsibility for £750 million of media negotiation in the UK for Carat and Vizem.

Carat recently announced plans to become the first media specialist to licence the entire CACI lifestyle database in-house, with a six figure investment allowing the agency’s strategic planners and consumer insight analysts to access over 300 additional facts on 38 million UK individuals (see Carat Launches Lifestyle Database).
