RAJAR figures for Q3 2010 saw another stellar performance from commercial radio, which gained half a million new listeners across national and local stations.

Digital Radio put in a strong performance once again this quarter, posting substantial increases in weekly reach and DAB set ownership.

At first look it seems as if Chris Evans has not had a great RAJAR, losing 341,000 listeners quarter on quarter. However, on closer inspection he only has 5,000 less listeners than his predecessor, Terry Wogan did a year ago.

Magic 105.4 has re-claimed the top spot in London after losing out to Heart 106.2 FM in last quarter’s RAJAR release.

BBC Radio 2 still has the highest number of national listeners despite a small drop in reach during Q3 2010.

Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon’s 95.8 Capital Radio breakfast show is still number one in London, despite a good effort from its main rivals Heart 106.2 FM and Kiss 100.

Heart 106.2 FM is officially the Capital’s number one station, after shooting ahead of the old favourite Magic 105.4 to claim the highest weekly reach.
