United Newspapers, publishers of the Daily Express has announced results for the year ending December 31. Pre-tax profits were up 25.3% from £109.9m to £137.7m.The UK national newspapers increased operating profits by 2%, although the current “turbulent market conditions” such as cost-cutting by other papers and extra spending on new supplements held back profits.
