BSkyB has been criticised over its £3 price rise to all subscribers. The increase, which is taken automatically out of subscriber’s accounts, was not made clear enough, subscribers have complained. Notification was only on an insert within the free Sky TV Guide.

Independent Newspapers, the Irish newspaper group, reported a 4% rise in interim pre-tax profits to I£15.2m.(£14m).
Pearson has announced results for the 6 months ending 30 June 1994. Pre-tax profits for the group are up 50% to £69.3m.
