Champion’s League Falls Short Of BBC Drama

Arsenal Beat Real Madrid Last night saw an average of 5.8 million adults tune in to see Arsenal secure victory over Real Madrid in the Champion’s League on ITV1, although the BBC remained ahead of its commercial rival, with larger audiences for schedule stalwarts Eastenders and Holby City.

Eastenders notched up an average 8.9 million adult viewers, securing a 42.69% share despite going head to head with the football, while Holby City drew 5.9 million in the following hour.

BBC Two also saw success, as the Winter Olympics maintained its strong performance, drawing an average of 2.8 million adults.

Channel 4’s new series of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares proved popular, meanwhile, as the expletive chef drew 3.7 million on average to provide the high point of the broadcaster’s evening.

Five’s CSI:Crime Scene Investigation continued its ratings-winning run, with the new series securing an average audience of just over 3 million, followed by 2.4 million for a repeated episode of CSI:Miami.
