Dancing On Ice Final Freezes Out Competition

Dancing On Ice Winner - Gaynor Faye ITV delivered a ratings masterstroke on Saturday night, flooring the competition with its Dancing On Ice finale, followed by Tony Blair’s appearance on chat show Parkinson.

The ice skating showdown saw former soap star Gaynor Faye scoop victory, watched by an average adult audience of 10.1 million.

Delivering a share of 44.4%, the programme destroyed competition from all terrestrial rivals, with BBC One’s Just The Two Of Us drawing a comparatively poor 4.1 million, with a share of 18.29%.

ITV’s Parkinson followed the ice skating extravaganza, featuring the prime minister alongside Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey to draw 5.3 million adults on average. The winning formula saw ITV outperform all rivals across primetime slots.

Elsewhere Channel 4 saw just over 2 million adults tune in to its film, Planet of the Apes, while Five’s CSI:NY proved the highlight of its evening, with average adult viewers numbering 2.1 million.
